ArtiosCAD Parametric Standards

I independently developed custom ArtiosCAD parametric standards for a family of highly variable structural designs, reducing repetitive CAD work while improving iteration speed and design consistency.

I taught myself StyleMaker and translated recurring structural relationships, constraints and manufacturing requirements into reusable standards that generate prototype-ready designs and remain adjustable throughout development.

Process

Finding repeatable logic in custom designs

Small changes in product geometry could require substantial reconstruction, even though the designs shared many underlying structural relationships. I identified the recurring dimensions, features and constraints that could be standardized while preserving flexibility for product-specific refinement.

Building reusable parametric standards

I encoded those relationships into custom ArtiosCAD standards using linked variables, design constraints and manufacturing requirements. Each standard generates a prototype-ready structural base from product and design inputs while remaining parametrically adjustable as the design evolves.

Accelerating iteration and exploration

The standards reduced repetitive reconstruction and made it faster to evaluate structural changes throughout development. Designs that could previously consume a substantial portion of a workday could often be developed in roughly one to two hours, while embedded design logic also improved consistency across iterations.

Outcome

I integrated the parametric standards into my structural-design workflow, substantially reducing development time while enabling faster iteration, greater consistency and deeper structural exploration.
