Razor E-Commerce Packaging
I developed a folding-carton packaging system for a chrome safety razor and replacement blade pack, engineered to securely retain and separate both components through e-commerce distribution.
I designed an integrated paperboard insert that controls product movement while balancing material efficiency, hand assembly and product presentation.

Process
Product Fit & Retention
The curved razor handle and smaller blade pack required different retention strategies within the same package. I explored multiple orientations and structural concepts to create a compact layout that securely located both components while maintaining easy product removal.
Integrated Protective Structure
I developed die-cut seating features that locate the razor handle and control lateral movement. A push-in feature creates a dedicated cell for the blade pack, eliminating excess movement without requiring a separate insert, additional glue or a more complex locking mechanism.
Packing & Product Presentation
The insert was designed for straightforward hand assembly while keeping both products visible and accessible during unboxing. Once loaded into the outer carton, the complete system provides final restraint and protects the presentation through distribution.
Outcome
The final design consolidated retention, separation and presentation into a compact, material-efficient paperboard system. Integrated structural features securely locate two differently shaped components while minimizing parts and maintaining simple assembly and product access.
